POLICY 2-5.4      FUNDRAISING BY STUDENTS

Fundraising campaigns shall be discouraged except for advertising in athletic programs and school publications.  The business community shall not be called upon to finance a number of projects through fundraising campaigns.  The division superintendent upon recommendation of the principal may grant exceptions to this provision.

Any in-school fundraising activity shall have the approval of the principal.  The number of fundraising campaigns and annual fund drives involving school students, especially door-to-door canvassing in the community, shall be kept to a minimum and must be approved by the principal at or near the beginning of the school year.  The purpose of fundraising shall be specified.

Elementary students will be instructed not to participate in door-to-door fundraising activities without adult supervision.

Students shall not participate in sales or fundraising activities for the purpose of raising funds for instructional materials and/or equipment.
